National Development Finals 2017

What a great weekend for Team ABC where we had 2 boxer representing us in the National Development finals. A fantastic achievement to make it to this stage and makes all the hard work and commitment definitely worth it. Was fantastic to also have a minibus full of supporters for the 2 boxers. First into the ring was Tommy Fletcher who quickly set about his opponent and landed some of his big customary punches which in the middle of the first round caused significant damage to the other lads nose giving the referee no other option but to stop the contest. So after only a handful of bouts (literally!) Team ABC had its first Champion and I’m fairly sure more accolades and success will come to this level headed great lad. Much later in the day Connor Holloway made his way into the ring and produced 3 solid rounds of good boxing, but unfortunately in what must have been a very close call the decision went to his opponent in a split decision. However he can certainly hold his head high and even though he didn’t get the result he wanted on the day Team ABC still came away with 2 champions ?. Both boxers were a credit to their club and filled everyone associated with pride, Well done all. Just another step in the journey to even more success for Team ABC !!
